The Cookie Thief

A woman was waiting at an airport one night,
With several long hours before her flight,
She hunted for a book in the airport shop,
Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

She was engrossed in her book but happened to see,
That the man sitting beside her, as bold as could be,
Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag in between,
Which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene.

So she munched the cookies and watched the clock,
As the gutsy cookie thief diminished her stock,
She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by,
Thinking, “If I wasn’t so nice, I would blacken his eye.”

With each cookie she took, he took one too,
When only one was left, she wondered what he would do,
With a smile on his face, and a nervous laugh,
He took the last cookie and broke it in half.

He offered her half, as he ate the other,
She snatched it from him and thought… oooh, brother,
This guy has some nerve and he’s also rude,
Why he didn’t even show any gratitude!
She had never known when she had been so galled,
And sighed with relief when her flight was called,
She gathered her belongings and headed to the gate,
Refusing to look back at the thieving ingrate.

She boarded the plane, and sank in her seat,
Then she sought her book, which was almost complete,=
As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise,
There was her bag of cookies, in front of her eyes.

If mine are here, she moaned in despair,
The others were his, and he tried to share,
Too late to apologize, she realized with grief,
That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief.

I just love this poem that tells the story of the lady that bought a book and some cookies at the airport! There’s a lesson in there too! When I saw this lovely pose, Veronica’s Story, from Something New, with it’s cookie and book, I thought this little moral story would work, cos, you know, cookies and books! This pose is a new release and you can get it now at the Something New Mainstore.

Also today I am wearing this lovely cosy sweater dress from L.A. BoS. The Daize Sweater Dress is available now at this current round of Marvelous Monthly which runs until 25th January. The dress comes in all the normal sizing and has several colours available. I do love the knitted texture which is very clear and detailed.

Also from Marvelous Monthly today I am wearing these awesome shoes. These are the Plume Shoes by Lucky Night. One of two exclusives available now at the event. I’m wearing white here but there are several lovely colours to choose and fits from all the normal meshy feet.

The wall panels are from Kraftwork. This is part a of their Wall System which is available now both in the Mainstore and on their Marketplace store. Now, if like me you have trouble even with basic building and texturing, this wall system is perfect. There are rezzers included that allow you to rez as many panels as you need. All are fully modifiable so you can stretch and shrink them as needed, you can change the distance between the panels too. And there are a few texture sets to choose from each one has a selection of very cool textures. This one I have use is called Salmon Pattern and it is from the Geometric texture set. I have made my panels big because I have tall wide walls but really the can be modified to fit any wall. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this system was to use.
