Hiding away…

Yesterday, on 1st December, I posted on Facebook, saying that I wanted to crawl under a rock for the next month and come out on 1st January.  I’ll try to explain why.  I never used to be like this.  Obviously when my kids were little, December was a very busy, happy time in our house,  and Christmas too, there were always lots of family around and I cooked Christmas dinner for 10 people most years.  I loved it. Over the years the kids grew up, and now they are gone and both have moved so far away I don’t get to see them much.  They both have their own families now and do their own thing.  Which is fine.  I get it.  And, for just a few years we had a very quiet Christmas, with just me and my Hubby.  Those times were lovely too.  I cooked too much, we ate too much, and watched way too much TV.  We would play card games and Scrabble, play music, and just generally chilled out together doing whatever we wanted to.  Times were good.

Fast forward then to 14th December 2016.  One of the darkest days ever.  That was the day hubby got the news he was sick.  Christmas 2016 was cancelled.  I ate beans on toast for my Christmas dinner, while my husband lay in bed sleeping off the effects of his first round of chemotherapy.  I have talked about this on my blog before, and those of you that read it will know the story.  Just a few short weeks later, he was gone.

I really don’t mean to be miserable at Christmas, and in the main I’m not, but suffice to say Christmas is no longer the happy family time it once was in my house.  So the build up to it, and the holiday itself bring me very little comfort these days.  It’s just a few days off work and a pain in the ass to go shopping.  The shops are always insanely busy, it’s like everyone goes shopping crazy. It drives me nuts.  I would just prefer to avoid the whole damn thing.

I think I might start a petition to get Christmas moved to July, it’s much warmer and the shops will be way less busy 😛

I’m wearing today the very lovely Stella Overalls and Takeaway Ruffle Top by Vinyl Apparel. Both come in fits for Maitreya, Legacy, Belleza Isis & Freya and Slink Physique and Hourglass mesh bodies.  There are 16 single colours available for the Overalls and 18 for the Top.  Each purchase of the Overalls comes with the optional Takeaway top in black or white, for other colours you will need to purchase separately. You can get both Stella Overalls and Takeaway Top right now at the current round of Uber, which runs until 22nd December.

Ebano Poses’ latest release is released at the upcoming round of UniK, where they will have 3 pose sets on offer.  I’m showing a pose from the Smoking pose set, which includes several single female poses plus mirrors and the cigarette prop for each. UniK does not open until 7th December, so please don’t try to get there before then, it’s not that long to wait, honest!
