Every year, all over the world, there are many disasters. Tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, fires, volcano eruptions, just to name some. Right now, Australia is burning, and it has been for some time, and will be for some time yet to come. Firefighters from many countries have flown out there to help the efforts in containing the wild bush fires that are ravaging the country. Many lives have been lost, both human and wildlife. Infrastructure has been destroyed, people have lost their homes. It’s a very real, very frightening time for the people of this beautiful country.

I have never been fortunate enough to visit Australia, but it is on my bucket list, and one day I will get there. But for now, all I can do, like most of the rest of the world, is watch the heartbreaking news reports as the country continues to be ravaged by the fires.

YOU can help. By donating to one, or more of the many appeals that have been set up to help fight the fire and alleviate some of the suffering. One such appeal is the RSPCA NSW – Bushfire Appeal. Allyson Dwyer Applewhyte, who lives in Australia, and is the owner of the pose store Something New, has created a set of poses, and 100% of sales will go to the appeal. If you don’t want to buy a pose, there is also a donation jar at the store that you can pop a few LS into if you wish. Already, in just a few days of these poses going on sale, over 30K LS has been raised.
