Phen has that cold stare about her today, she could freeze you with one look! Not a good day to piss her off methinks!
Phen’s real life persona though, well. she is literally freezing today because her boiler broke! I turned my heating on this morning and nothing happened, so panic stricken me phoned my landlords emergency repair number, as it’s Saturday it’s considered ‘out of hours’. Anyway, the very nice but very unbright lady on the phone asked why I considered it to be an emergency and couldn’t it wait until Monday? I very patiently pointed out that it was January, it was the middle of winter, it’s freezing cold and I have no hot water either, I’d consider that a pretty urgent issue. She then went off to speak to someone leaving me on hold for what seemed like an eternity, I’m sure was only a couple of minutes in reality though. She came back and told me that it was not possible to get anyone out today, she was very sorry about this. She also said that they would, however, send someone as soon as they could in the morning.
So, I’m sitting here wearing more layers than an onion, with a hot water bottle in my lap, and woolly socks on my feet, waiting for the morning to come so I can get warm.
