We have been in ‘lockdown’ for so long now. Rightly or wrongly, the government has taken the decision to ease just a few of the restrictive measures, in preparation for the UK getting back to some sort of normal life, whatever the new normal will be. It is pretty obvious that day to day life will not be back to the way it was anytime soon. But, Covid-19 is here, and it’s a reality I believe we are going to have to learn to live with. That is a very scary thought. Nevertheless it’s a horrible truth. There is going to be no vaccine anytime soon. And, we are human beings, we have to start living again at some point, in some form.
Having said that, personally I do think it’s too early to be easing too much. Our infection rates, although much much lower than they were, are still too high, as are the death rates. We need to take baby steps.
To that end, I am very much looking forward to meeting my sister later for a social distancing visit. We are meeting in a local park, near where she lives, and taking her dogs for a walk. I can’t wait.
