I had to go to the opticians to get my eyes tested at the beginning of last week. It had only been a year since my last test, but I had noticed that my glasses were not as effective, especially my driving ones. Low and behold, my prescription had changed and I needed new specs. I have always had two pairs, one for reading and close work and one for driving. This time however, I opted for varifocals, because it really is a pain to have to keep changing glasses every few minutes to see. I got my new glasses last Sunday. I have to say I was a bit disappointed at first. I found them very strange. So much so that the first time I put them on after I got home, after a couple of hours I got a headache and started to feel nauseous. Everything was blurred no matter where I looked. The glasses were very expensive and I was worried that I had made a huge mistake. However, I have persevered, and wore them a little bit every day, each day keeping them on a little longer, and slowly I do feel I am getting more used to them. No more blurred vision. The trick is moving my head not just my eyes to see, and I actually think I am getting somewhere!
