So yes, here we go again. My computer died again on Saturday, right in the middle of a DJ set I was playing. Totally, effing, dead!
Last month it went down big time, after blue screening several times then running very slow and getting very hot. It’s a good computer, at least it was, 5 years ago it cost me the best part of 800 quid, so yeah, not super duper fabulous, but good enough. It has a decent graphics card, a good processor and decent sized memory. Two years ago it started to play up, blue screening and the such, I took it to a local computer repair man then who replaced the hard drive for me, and it has been fine since then, until a month ago. I was told back in August by Mr computer repair man, that it had probably come to the end of its days and would cost me as much or more to repair it, than to replace it. I was devastated, as I cannot afford to replace it at the moment. However, my boss at work asked the IT people we use for a second opinion, they had me take it to their workshop in town. Luckily, he said it just needed another new hard rive and a new fan, which he fitted for me and installed a new copy of windows 10. He also very kindly retrieved and copied all my music files over from the old drive for me, this was all relatively inexpensive.
So on Saturday I was playing a DJ set, and it just blue screened with no warning. It restarted itself though and booted into windows normally straight after. However, I was wary of it so I shut it down and left it for a bit. When I turned it back on, blue screened again. Wouldn’t even boot into Windows. So now it’s in the shop again, waiting to see if it is possible to fix it and how much more money it’s going to cost me.
Hopefully it can be fixed again without me spending an arm and a leg. If so, I’ll be back in a week or so, if not, well, it was really nice knowing y’all!
( I had already taken this picture and started to prepare the post earlier on Saturday, before all the shit hit the fan, I have borrowed my sister’s pc to finish it and post it!)
