As winters go, this winter has not been particularly bad for us here in the UK, weather wise that is. I’ve seen much worse. But, because of Covid, and lockdowns, it has been especially hard on everyone. Long lonely days spent indoors for the best part of a year, that takes it’s toll on all of us, especially if you are like me, and considered clinically extremely vulnerable. The only persoon I have seen is my sister, as she is my bubble person. I have had no human contact with anyone else, even when working, I work remotely, from home, and, as I live alone, its been difficult to say the least.
But, spring is on the way, another few short weeks and the weather will be getting warmer, already I see the signs of springtime, with daffodils in my garden poking through, and new shoots on my rose bushes. New life is starting to show. More hope for better days to come also came in the form of the Covid vaccine. I was so happy to get my first dose of the injection this morning. It’s a step in the right direction to getting out of the god awful situation we are in. I long to sit on a beach somewhere, and feel the warm sun on my skin, and not have to worry about anything other than slapping on the factor 50 and what flavour ice cream to have!
I’m sure we all feel the same, just hang in there, the end IS in sight!
